Theatre Educator & Teaching Artist
I teach theatre through making it. At Hialeah Middle School, part of Miami-Dade County Public Schools (2022–2026), I built a magnet theatre conservatory from scratch, taking over 400 students through 15 productions: immersive haunted houses, a Renaissance Faire, original student work, published plays, over 30 student directed and written films, and a full mainstage musical. We also built the technical, construction, and costuming capabilities of the department, and produced collaborations with the Art, Music, and Dance magnets.
Inclusive arts education: I've worked with students with physical, social, and learning differences, including ADHD and autism, since my first job at 15. Since 2014 I've taught with Arts 4 Learning Miami, including their All Kids Included program for children with special mental, physical, and emotional needs.
Background: Teaching Artist, Arts 4 Learning Miami · ArtSouth after-school and summer programs · GETSmart (training teachers to integrate arts into core subjects) · Wolf Trap certified for early childhood arts education (ages 3–5) · B.A. in English, Florida International University, Magna Cum Laude.
